Rex Abergas is our Fascial Stretch Therapy provider and RMT for the Axis family!

Rex has been part of the health and fitness industry for the past 10 years. He began his own personal story as an overweight teenager that decided to change his path. He lost 70 lbs and realized how much better life is when his health is in check. He wanted to share this experience with others and that’s where his career in health and fitness began. He worked as a personal trainer and managed a gym in the past and has always loved working with clients on a 1 on 1 basis.

As he progressed, Rex realized that health care is an important part in any routine. This comes from suffering many injuries and not taking the due diligence to take care of the issue. This led Rex to having treatments regularly with FST. Seeing his results, it built a passion in him to share with people that living pain free is possible.

As a Fascial Stretch Therapy provider, Rex has worked on hundreds of clients since his certification and continues full force down the path of health care. He is currently studying to achieve his RMT license, while having a number of certifications under his belt and looking forward to acquiring more.

What makes Rex a great healthcare provider is that he truly cares. When you are in the room with him, Rex puts all his effort and focus on that person. His motto that he carried from the start of his career is simple:

“When the client trusts you with their health, you give them everything you can and help them get to where they want to get as much as you possibly can.”

Christopher’s journey into physiotherapy began on the court. As a varsity badminton player at the University of Toronto, he experienced firsthand the challenges of sports-related injuries. Navigating his own recovery sparked a deep curiosity about how the body heals and performs, inspiring him to help others regain strength, mobility, and confidence. Chris understands the physical and mental demands of sport, as well as the patience required to return to peak performance after injury.

He earned his Master of Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and also holds a degree in Radiography (Medical Imaging). This combination provides a thorough understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and imaging, enhancing his ability to assess musculoskeletal conditions accurately and develop precise, evidence-based treatment plans. Combining his professional expertise with personal athletic experience, Chris also engages in other sports, including tennis, pickleball, and volleyball (to name a few), giving him an insider’s perspective on the physical demands athletes face and movement patterns that can predispose them to injury.

In practice, Chris takes a hands-on, collaborative approach. He integrates manual therapy techniques with individualized exercise programs and patient education, working closely with each patient to identify root causes rather than simply treating symptoms. He emphasizes long-term recovery strategies, strength and mobility improvements, and injury prevention to ensure patients return to their activities safely and confidently. His ultimate goal is to empower clients to achieve optimal performance, maintain physical health, and enjoy the sports and activities they love with confidence and freedom of movement.

Meet Dr. Uravi Shah! A health and fitness driven individual. Upon her completion of her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), she also completed her certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Since graduating, she has had a fulfilling career of treating patients of all ages and assisting them in resolving a multitude of physical injuries/complaints. Having battled with migraines for most of her life, she was drawn to pursue chiropractic as a means of helping those suffering from chronic headaches in the same way that chiropractic has helped her. Prior to entering CMCC, Dr. Shah attended McMaster University where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours. While at McMaster, she received a scholarship to volunteer and assist at a pediatric facility in India.

Helping others overcome their limitations-both mental and physical is her passion. When treating her patients, Uravi strives to get an idea of your “whole picture” as she strongly believes that pain can often be a psychosomatic manifestation. Further to this, she also believes in analyzing the body as a whole rather than simply focusing on the site of the pain or injury as our body is interconnected from head to toe through our fascia.

She practices diversified chiropractic and employs a variety of soft tissue techniques, modalities, kinesiotaping, cupping therapy, acupuncture and exercise prescription as adjuncts within her therapeutic protocols.

In her free time, Uravi enjoys dancing, weight training and reading.
